Jeff and Shea’s love story is incredible! To say these two are a power couple is quite the understatement. They “met” seven years ago during their freshmen year of college at Franklin and Marshall University, and although they both knew of each other and saw each other many times throughout that time, they never actually spoke. They officially met when Shea attended the Chi Phi Spring Formal with her friend, Adam. All through that summer they kept in touch and talked regularly, and they began officially dating when they returned for their Sophomore year! They had no idea what life had in store for them ahead.
After dating for years long distance and time apart, they moved to Fort Benning, GA. After that they moved to Fort Bragg in NC, and in 2017 Jeff was deployed to Iraq. This would be one of the hardest trials in their relationship, but they leaned into God and on each other to get through! Shea would set her alarm at 3am to be sure she was awake for Jeff’s calls, and prayed every single night for his safe return home. By God’s grace, Jeff did return safely home, and in January of 2018, Jeff finally popped the question! On what had been one of the coldest New Year’s in Massachusetts, they were visiting Jeff’s family. They stepped into the backyard to take their family New Year’s card picture, and with their parents, siblings and doggies, Jeff got down on one knee in the snow and proposed! With happy tears all around, they were thrilled to share that moment with some of the most important people in their lives!
Fast forward to May 2019, and we arrive at their highly anticipated wedding day! The sun was shining with a chance of rain, but spirits were high! Shea and Jeff got ready at the beautiful Oaks at Salem with each of their TEN bridesmaids and groomsmen! They exchanged gifts, and wrote heartfelt letters to one another which we always love! They were then transported to St Mary’s Chapel in Downtown Raleigh, where people from all walks of their lives gathered to celebrate in their pronouncement as husband and wife!
Returning to The Oaks at Salem for the reception, they had their first dance as a married couple, followed by sweet dances with Jeff’s mom and Shea’s grandfather. The toasts were one of our favorite parts of the day! Shea’s two younger cousins as maids of honor, Jeff’s two brothers as best men, and Shea’s uncle shared incredibly well spoken toasts about them both! An epic cake cutting with a sword, dinner, dancing, a donut bar, a biscuit bar, AND a s’mores bar were big hits at their reception (they definitely were with us, haha)! It was such an awesome wedding day, and we were so blessed to play a small part in this incredible couple’s love story!
